Why doesn't Weiner suppoena the cell phone company's records to find out who sent the picture?

If someone hacked his Twitter account they could track where it came from. The fact that he does not do this makes it look as though he made a mistake while he was sending it doesn't it?

Thats like asking Casey Anthony to take a lie detector test, or go under hypnosis to see who killed her daughter.
We all know the answer.

Think about it, you are a member of the House of Representatives of the United States of America.

You think that someone hacked into your account and you do not report it, not even after the picture is released. You have the largest investigative body in the world (FBI) at your beckon call and you don't even pick up the phone.

You have power as a member of congress and you do not even ask Twitter to look at their logs and obtain the IP addresses where your account has been accessed from, even if they won't turn them over to you the FBI can still get access.

There may be no need to subpoena cell phone records unless the IP address used is associated with a cell phone company.

Yeah, I know what you mean, I saw the pictures and it is a rather small deal. Poor TINY TONY
now the world knows he has no dick.

It amazes me that the liberals will quickly become suspicious when something like this happens to one of their own, yet have no suspicions as to why Obama refuses still to release his college records and despite more than a dozen lawsuits had refused to show the long form of his birth certificate. No liberal would dare to believe that there were any chance that he was hiding anything.

UPDATE for justagranny.
I am curious as to what you think now that Weiner has admitted that he tweeted the picture. Should he resign as Chris Lee did for sending a picture of himself without a shirt?

He didn't think it was a big deal, with his name he thought it was a joke.
He'd have to go through a whole thing, its not up to him to subpoena records, it would have to be the Capitol police.
If he made a mistake when sending it, then why was it picked up in the few minutes it was there by a guy from Breitbart, the organization that targets politicians and organization that they don't like?
That makes it very suspicious.

At worst, he sent an unidentifiable picture of his shorts to someone. She didn't make a case of it, he didn't make a case of it, only the guy who sent the picture out made a big deal out of it.

So there isn't much there when you look at it, it could be anyone, there is no skin showing.
