I don't know if you only wanted American views....
However, Palin comes off very badly internationally, and would probably not help the US' reputation. I'm really sorry to say this, but she also seems to be a bit of an uncultured dimwit at times.
I'm sure she's a wonderful person, but I don't quite have confidence in her leadership abilities. Sort of the opposite of Harper. I don't think he's a very good person, but he is able to lead fairly well.
There are many other conservatives I would consider before her.

She is smarter than the media gives her credit for, look at how she manipulates them and has been able to capitalize on the attention she generates.
I personally find her annoying, would never vote for her and I hope she doesn't run. She is too divisive and would do nothing to bring the country together and the media would make sure she fails.
