Thoughts on Sarah Palin?
On the recent "discoveries..."
To those with perfect teenagers...don't vote for her.
To those with perfect husbands...don't vote for her.
For the rest of us, three cheers for Sarah Palin. She'll make a great VP.

Right on. Perfection is only God, although many Dems seem to think God is Obama.

She is not the right choice. Because one of the Republicans' main criticisms of Obama has been his relative inexperience in foreign policies, and it's a criticism that has stuck. But they are so certain that what the party needs to do is to pull a woman – any woman – out of the hat that they have plumped for Palin, whose experience amounts to two years as governor of Alaska and mayor of a town with a population of 7,000, thereby disabling one of their biggest arguments against the Democrats. she isn't a Hillary Clinton who has far more experience to run this country than Sarah Palin has. The lady would be President if McCain should die while serving as President... think about it. I find that scary to think about. He should have picked Mitt Romney.

Forget the family part of the issue.......although I think she is completely wacky for thinking that Abstinence is the only real solution to teenage pregancy. (Obvisiouly it didn't work for her kid) But back to the issues.
Do you honestly think that someone who just a couple of years ago, was the mayor of a little town, and then somehow wins the election for Governor for a State that is isolated from the rest of us, and is so politically corrupt, can honestly lead the country if McCain croaks??
Come on.....I come from a little hick town that is ten times the size of where she was Mayor, and our Mayor is a born idiot. I'm sorry, but if my Mayor was picked to become the VP of this country I would run and hide in Canada or somewhere else.
Sarah Palin is very controversal on many topics, doesn't have a whole lot of experience and has absolutely no Washington DC experience....she would be fed to the wolves if she had to take on World leaders like Putin for example.
If anyone thinks she is the best answer for the Reps.......they have rocks in their head.
For the record I am non-partisan and have voted both Rep and Dem in many elections, both state and federal......also McCain had two other Women choices that were much more qualified than Palin, but he didn't pick them, because they weren't pro-life.
This was a feeble attempt to sway the Hillary women voters, but for the most part they have found this an insult for women to think that a former beauty queen would be the best choice to run the United States of America.
If you people do happen to get this gal and McCain elected, you have signed your own death warrant....it all boils down to wacky regilious activists, Oil Companies, and Insurance companies that really run this country......very sad, but very true. Obama is our only remote hope.
Sorry Reps, I know you won't agree, but it's the truth.

As someone who doesn't make a habit of looking at candidate's personal lives as examples of their ability to govern, I don't see how either of those points make her qualified to be second in command. She'll make a great VP because McCain will be teaching her everything he knows about foreign policy and domestic policy (yeesh) along the way while trying to protect her from media scrutiny. She's a "reformer" who won't say a word to balance him out. Seems weird he liked "yes men" like Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and Joe Lieberman (I or R-CT) to accompany him and agree with everything he did, and now he picks a VP that will do the same. She also happens to be a former beauty queen, just like his wife. Seems a little odd. Almost like the child they would have had if they had not chosen to adopt.

Nice body. Charming! Wears glasses, maybe she can actually read? lol! Smart. Has 5 kids that need her attention! 5! One with Down syndrome! Where is her husband? Will he be there for her? Not big on foreign policy! This could be our President?! Ehhhhh? <wobbles hand back and forth But I like her too...
I am still an Obamanite though.
Which would be better, an Obamanation or a Palination? lol

I think that she was a bad pick for McCain. He could have used somebody that would bring name recgonition to his party and increase the amount of voters that come out for him in the fall. He had been touting experience as the main thing to look for in his running mate. It was especially important for him to get somebody experienced since he is 72 and has had Cancer in the past. This pick might give him some evangelical voters but if they were looking for HIllary voters to switch over, it is not going to happen (they voted for Hillary based on issues). All these things keep coming out of her closet too which make it even worse of a pick.

This is what I am concerned with, McCain is 72 and had cancer 5 times, Palin is that close the Presidency
Palin: I've been so focused on state government, I haven't really focused much on the war in Iraq. I heard on the news about the new deployments, and while I support our president, Condoleezza Rice and the administration, I want to know that we have an exit plan in place
Steve Doocy from Fox news “She does have foreign relations experience because she is from Alaska and that’s right up there near Russia”.
Palin Video “What does the VP do?”
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ys4HGbiO...
Palin replied: "As for that VP talk all the time, I'll tell you, I still can't answer that question until somebody answers for me what is it exactly that the VP does every day? I'm used to being very productive and working real hard in an administration. We want to make sure that that VP slot would be a fruitful type of position, especially for Alaskans and for the things that we're trying to accomplish up here for the rest of the U.S., before I can even start addressing that question
Suing Polar Bears
Gov. Sarah Palin and other state officials fear a listing will cripple offshore oil and gas development in the Chukchi and Beaufort seas in Alaska's northern waters, which provide prime habitat for the only polar bears under U.S. jurisdiction.
"We believe that the Service's decision to list the polar bear was not based on the best scientific and commercial data available," Palin said in announcing the lawsuit
"This lawsuit and her head-in-the-sand approach to global warming only helps oil companies, certainly not Alaska or the polar bear," Siegel said. "Gov. Palin should be working for sustainable, clean energy development in Alaska instead of extinction for the polar bear."
Palin Under Ethics Violation investigation
In naming her as his vice presidential running mate Friday, Sen. John McCain hailed Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as “someone who has fought against corruption.” But Palin is under two ethics investigations springing from accusations that she abused her office to pursue a personal grudge

Shame on her for not putting her family first, not protecting her daughter from what she knew would be incredible media and public scrutiny. That girl will be scarred from this fanciful career attempt by her mother FAR more than becoming a mother at 17. Some family values Sarah is spouting. Imagine googling yourself 20 years from now and see what your mother put you through. If she survives 20 years. Oh, and BTW, this is not a political post, but a morally thought out post. If I were asked to be VP, and knew the scrutiny that would come across my family, I would protect my sons and daughters from any kind of harm that my career choice might cause them, including just saying "thanks, no thanks."

Well, she used to be a member of the AIP party in Alaska which advocates Alaska being an independent nation, and whose motto is "Alaska First"
She advocates abstinence only education INSTEAD OF sex education, and her teenage daughter is pregnant.
She is currently under investigation regarding whether she illegally fired the directory of saftety because he wouldn't fire her brother-in-law from his state trooper job (messy divorce thing).
She has ZERO foreign policy experience, despite Cindy McCain's suggesting that her state being really close to Russia should count.
Two years ago she was the Mayor of a town of 9,000 people.
I guess you could say I'm not sure she's the right choice to be a heartbeat away from the Presidency, especially if that heart happens to be beating in the geriatric chest of John McCain.

No. Just... no.
I tried to think of WHY he chose an inexperienced, attractive, female running mate who he has only met ONCE, if not for votes. But I couldn't think of any other reasons.
"Oh, too bad Hilary is out of the running," says Female Voter. "But look! There's another woman up for election! I'll just vote for her instead! They're both women, so there won't be any difference there between them at all!"
...That's how I think McCain must imagine the female thought process. Nothing else explains this ridiculous choice.

The liberals are afraid of Sarah Palin. She is Governor of Alaska with over 200 vetoes under her belt.
The liberals are afraid of Sarah Palin, if John McCain wins and decides to serve only one term Sarah Palin runs as the sitting Vice President in 2012 opposing Hillary Clinton...but Palin will have four years experience as Vice President of the United States and two years as Governor of Alaska under her belt.
If Obama wins, Hillary won't have a chance to run until 2016....I don't think Hillary wants to wait that long.....Go Sarah Palin.
If you are a Hillary Clinton supporter you had better hope McCain wins.
