Love Is The Answer
Hey there! I'm 21 years old. I live in Florida. I'm in college. I love Jesus! :)
What stores have good clothes (women's) for job interviews?
I'm a graduate student on a very tight budget, so I have to take that into consideration. Any tips on where to find affordable but professional clothes?
So far I've looked at Target and I hate everything they have in the store right now! Will probably try Sears next, but any other suggestions?
Thank you!

10 AnswersAdministrative and Office Support1 decade agoHelp with English grammar?
Hey everyone. Let me explain my situation.
I seem to have graduated from Florida's AMAZING public education system (scoff) with remarkably little knowledge of English grammar. Though I have always read voraciously, and I can recognize what is "right" or "wrong" about sentences most of the time, I know almost no terminology relating to grammar, or rules, or anything really.
This was all fine and dandy when I was a Biology major... but I have now decided I want to teach English as a second language. The major for this career focus is Applied Linguistics, and I have almost no formal education on this topic. I'm a little worried about succeeding in the courses I will have to take, since I feel like the most complicated grammatical concept I have fully mastered is "noun vs. verb vs. adjective vs. adverb." But I can't tell you what a "clause" is. I don't know the difference between a subject and an object... see my problem?
Are there any free websites that can help me? I'm 22 years old, and as I mentioned before, I have a rather firm grasp of *using* the English language, but I would like to broaden my *understanding* of the "hows" and "whys" of grammar.
Suggestions?? Thanks...
4 AnswersLanguages1 decade agoFavorite worship songs?
Hey! In recognition of Easter, the celebration of our Lord's resurrection, I was just wondering what some of your favorite worship songs are right now!
I've been really into Kim Walker lately myself... like this song, for instance:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c2U3PU-E32E
SOOO good!! Especially around 5:55... good stuff!
What about you? What worship music have you been into lately?
Obviously this is directed towards Christians, but if someone else wants to post a witty comment, whatever, knock yourself out, makes no difference to me ;)

10 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoA question for atheists, secular humanists, etc...?
I have a few questions regarding the abortion debate, and I'd like to get the perspective of some people who do not believe in any sort of God. I promise I won't spin your answers into some kind of attack on your logic, or call you a heathen murderer (lol)... I'm honestly curious as to what motivates your opinion. :)
What is your position regarding the ethics surrounding the taking of another human life? (never justified? only in self-defense? free-for-all? etc...)
At what point do you think life begins, and why (genetics, human development, whatever reasoning you have used to reach that conclusion)?
What is your opinion of abortion?
I would really appreciate a few thorough answers. Thanks!
13 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoBest shampoo/conditioner for straight hair?
Hey everyone!! I was wondering what the best shampoo and conditioner combo is for long, straight hair. I'm getting married in 6 months, so I want my hair to be strong and nourished, and as smooth/shiny as possible.
Right now I use Garnier Fructis Sleek and Shine, but my hairstylist says it leaves a weird coating on my hair. Suggestions welcome... especially suggestions that aren't super expensive!!
Thanks :)
3 AnswersHair1 decade agoPlease help me find this Bible verse!!?
I'm looking for a verse about how we should give people nothing bad to say about us, except to say that we follow Jesus... or something about being persecuted for doing right in the eyes of God... can anyone help me?
I think one is in Acts, but I know there's multiple verses on that sort of topic.
Thank you so much!!

6 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoHas anyone ever had an event catered by Sonny's BBQ?
Hello! I'm just wondering if anyone has ever had an event catered by Sonny's BBQ. Call me whatever names you like, but I'm thinking of having Sonny's catering at my wedding... it's delicious, and I'm sure it's cheaper than a lot of other catering services!
Obviously I know that some individual restaurants will vary in the service they provide, but just in general, how was your experience?
Did you have to pay gratuity (20%, or what)?
Did a server stay the entire time to set up, serve, and clean up?
What sort of food was there?
How much did it cost per person?
I know that's a lot of questions, but just answer as many as possible. I'm going to call the restaurant later in the week, but I was just curious as to anyone's personal experiences.
Thanks!

2 AnswersFood Service1 decade agoWedding dress question......?
I'm getting married on a very tight budget, and I don't want to spend much money on a dress. I'm thinking in the range of $300. Do any wedding dress boutiques carry dresses that are this inexpensive, or am I pretty much limited to David's Bridal?
15 AnswersWeddings1 decade agoWedding Registry Question!!?
Is there any method to choosing a place to do the gift registry?
I like Target because it's easy, has variety, and my fiance likes the possibility of adding in a few electronics... lol!
Bed Bath & Beyond has some nice stuff too, though, and seems like almost nicer quality...?
My question: Is it too confusing to have two registries? Should we use both places, or just pick one? And if so, which do you think would be the better store?
Any personal experience would be appreciated. Thanks a lot!! :)
7 AnswersWeddings1 decade agoWhy do people think it's good to be "color-blind"?
Now, hear me out. I'm not saying we should be racist. Racism is BAD, yes?
But, by saying "I'm color-blind," you are really saying that somebody's race means nothing to you. You are ignoring it completely.
The problem with this is that we can actually LEARN from each others' differences, but when we ignore them, we really just perpetuate the idea that all society should be the same. Being "color blind" translates into being ignorant of the differences that make us beautiful and unique individuals!
How can we, as a society and as individuals, move from trying to ignore race and culture entirely, to a place of embracing and VALUING multi-ethnicity as something that is good and beautiful??
(This is posted on R&S because of a verse I read in Revelations, where it says there will be people of every tribe, tongue, and nation who worship the Lamb. Made me wonder what you all would think!)

13 AnswersGender Studies1 decade agoChristians and Eating Disorders?
I am curious as to what Christians think of eating disorders, and where they come from.
Are they regular diseases like a cold, cancer? Is there a demonic influence taking over and making the person hate themselves? Is it a consequence of our society which idolizes beauty? Etc...
If there are any Christians who have struggled with eating disorders, who still struggle, or have even overcome them, I'm especially interested in hearing your story.
Thanks!
10 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoSegregation in the church?
There is a saying that "Sunday is the most segregated day of the week," meaning that many churches have congregations from only one race.
If you go to church, is it very diverse or not, and how do you feel about it's diversity (or lack thereof)?
What steps could be taken in order to encourage more multi-ethnicity in American churches? (Or do you even feel this is a goal worth pursuing?)

14 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoChristians-- What is your opinion on...?
...using Adderall as a study aid, but without a prescription?
For those that don't know, Adderall is a prescription medication used to treat ADHD, but is also commonly taken by those without ADHD in order to study and to focus on daunting or boring tasks.
How do you feel about Christians using this particular drug without a prescription? Please explain your reasoning.
Thank you!

6 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoHelp me name this techno song!! 10 Points if correct!!?
I have been looking for a song I did a pantomime to in 7th grade drama camp, which was in 2000, so the song was definitely released prior to 2000, and quite possibly even earlier than that.
The name might have something to do with toys, since the pantomime was about toys coming to life.
The song is totally instrumental, and has sort of a wind-blowing sound effect at the beginning. Being techno/dance, the melody has a definite electronic sound.
That's all the description I can give without just humming the song, which won't help at all since you can't hear me! I know it's vague, but if ANYBODY knows this song, I will be so grateful!!
Thank you! :)
1 AnswerRock and Pop1 decade agoDo brides-to-be typically try to grow out their hair before the wedding?? Why?
My boyfriend and I have been together for a few years, and are planning on getting engaged soon. My close friends all know this. I have also been growing my hair out for a while. Recently, at least three people have commented on my hair, and either jokingly or seriously asked if I was "growing it out for the wedding." But I'm not, and I didn't realize I was expected to. I just happen to want longer hair right now.
I don't understand the relation between hair length and weddings, actually... Do brides typically want long hair at their wedding? If so, why?? (Or is it just an old fashioned saying?)
8 AnswersWeddings1 decade agoBridesmaid's dresses!!?
Hey! I'm looking for a good website to check out some bridesmaid dresses and get some ideas, and also see the price ranges.
I have looked at David's Bridal a few times, but they don't have the shade of green or the shade of purple I'm looking for (haven't decided on a color yet!).
Are there any other good websites for major wedding stores that have PRICES listed, and a large selection?
