Pathumwan Princess Hotel, it is built with the MBK Center just across from Siam Square. On the opposite end of the mall is the Skytrain and Skywalk way to the Siam Malls and Central World. Lots of restaurants and eateries around there. No red light district type establishments.

Night time, I have done 4 at Distil not Sirocco. Western prices for drinks. Food is okay I hear. I ate at Mezzaluna it was okay. You can reserve online, try a day or more in advance.

Other night life: Royal City Avenue clubs, there are 3 or 4 in the area, mostly locals. For foreigners or farang, a cozy night club is Q-Bar on Sukhumvit 11

Pathumwan Princess Hotel. It's actually built to the side of the MBK (a huge shopping centre), so you can leave the reception area, turn left before the front entrance and walk directly into the shopping mall.

I stayed there about 3 years ago. It's not cheap, but choose your time and rooms well in advance and you'll get a decent price. Great staff, stylish and welcoming....Show more

I recommend Bangkok Chada Hotel, the 4 star hotel at ratchada road. It’s close to MRT (subway). The hotel is nearby shopping malls such as Robinson, Carrefour, Esplanade, and Furtune tower. You can travel to Jatujak market (JJ market) and other Bangkok attractions by MRT.

There is traffic jam in Bangkok; you may find a nice hotel with great location.
Traveling by MRT (subway) and BTS (sky train) are good choices here. BTS is connected with airport link, recently. It’s convenient to transport.
Bangkok is safe. However, you should beware your belonging while you travel in the busy place.
MBK, Siam Paragon, Siam Center, Central world are the popular shopping malls in Bangkok. If you want to buy wholesale clothes or cheap women fashions, platinum shopping is the best choice.

Anytime you need a hotel recommendation always mention how much per night you want to spend on a hotel room! Two stars, 3 stars, 4 stars, no stars - some rooms may be around the same price. Even NO STAR hotels have private toilets, TV's, safety boxes, hot water, maid service, etc. Rooms with air and private toilet/shower start around 600 baht.

Asia Hotel. Look for special prices. Right on a Skytrain stop. Easy walk down to Pratunam shopping on Phetchaburi Road. You can use the Skytrain to take you to MBK, Patpong, Chatuchak Weekend Market, Ekamai bus terminal. Meet with the subway for rides to the Hualamphong train station. Also the Skytrain connects to the new Airport Rail Link.
