"The Piece" Care to Read?

"The Piece"

It was fully loaded
and placed in the center of the table
as they looked at each other
with the latest low
life had become
meaningless
with drugs being the
only
purpose at all
she'd given up on herself
kids left on their own
he lived in the moment
jacking whoever came along
who cares anymore
if we live or if we die
the gun, a game of fun
to either end it or
start anew in Hell
she laughed and flung her hair
to one side with glossed eyes
he laughed back
reached for the piece
and said
"Hey, Baby,
wanna' go for a spin?"

I am pretty used to this crap if it's possible to be jaded that much.
Only one friend of mine used a gun, over a girl of all things. How sick.
But everything is used for good, some of my contacts here IM with me.
They tear me up talking about this damn curse. So,I spend hours,
then all is good again.I'll never lose any more as long as I can breathe.
Great poem, reminding me and others that life is terrible many times.
Sometimes a simple hello can save a life,even though it's a merry-go-round.
Bye,,,Thanks

reached for a banana
and said
"Hey, Baby,
Who gave us the fruit basket?"

Shirley this was intense, and in it I added as I read, a thought of spin the bottle usin the gun, but wanna go to a light side and will allude to it here, but now inspired, I may let it rest here, for you to taste

Around a kitchen table
hungry children impatient, waited
seated squirmin, they chattered
as the brown log was brought
from the cook stove and set.
We clamored, heard "Shush and sit"
we did, waitin as it was sawed through
lookin like somethin Gramps might use
to prop a tractor to change a tire,
still it enticed desire.
Once revealed it shone like the sun
warm and in turn we all got a slice
of Lemon cake in a loaf

"Gram can we have another, please?"

Shirley. I am impressed beyond all SCOPE. Who would've guessed you'd come back with a BANG like this...This is right on TARGET. Got me all FIRED up...

OK OK i will stop. I know this is not an amusing poem but there is something in my exposure to the situation depicted therein that has it feeling like a homecoming party. I swear. I LOVE THIS POEM!!!

Glad you are happy. I deal with kids at work and boy am I glad to come home to a quiet house. One of the smartest things I ever did was not reproduce. You can't always get what you want... but sometimes, you still might find....
