Where Can I Get A Good AR-15 For Around $300?

I really want one for deer and hog hunting. Any brands that are better than others? I would like a 308. Where can I get one? Thanks, God bless.

I don't think you can unless you get lucky and find a used one a good ar will cost 600+

The .308 round is to long to feed in an AR-15. You will have to go with the AR-10 or DPMS LR-308. Those will run you at least $1000. Back to your original question AR-15 for $300. Check craigslist. Look around for someone selling a Lamborghini for $10,000. I am sure that he will have an AR-15 for $300 too.

Good ar15 and $300 really can't be used in the same sentence. A cheap used ar15 will be about $400 to $600. You might be able to build one for around $300-$400 if you shop around for used parts. New parts build is one of the cheapest and will cost between $450-$600 with luck. For this price you will be getting a very basic ar in 223 caliber.
One in 308 is going to jump the price considerably. At least $800-$1000 for a cheap one.
I have been shopping for one in 6.8 spc, and the cheapest I can get one if I build it myself is right at $800. What I have in mind will run a little higher.

U r joking, right?

Well, OK, just in case u r serious, you would have to time travel back to about 1980 for that. And the AR-15 is chambered in 223 Rem/5.56 NATO, not 308 Win.
In any event, either rifle will set you back close to a $1,000 USD new or $750 USD pre-owned.

Also, to my knowledge, it is illegal in most ( if not all states ) to hunt deer w/ a 22 caliber firearm, even if it's a center-fire ( 223 ) not a rim-fire ( 22LR ).
