Parents who don't accept their children?

Why is it so hard for some parents to accept their kids if they're different from each other? What's the mentality behind this?

The problem is that my dad is Catholic and I am not. I've never told him, but if I even imply it he's ready to kick me out. He doesn't love me if I'm not Catholic. I'm spiritual, not Catholic specifically.

Join the club. Its human nature. Some parents have no buisness being parents and are that way. Or maybe what youre doing is wrong. I wouldn't know.
