Pls pals, i need help in programming... Am so confused?

i got a few questions to ask y'all please:
1. What is d best and fastest way to learn programming (e.g java, c++, c)? Is it by takin classes or downloading books & tuts on net alone?
2. Can i b a good productive programmer in a year?

Iif downloading books and tuits on net is d best way... What books do y'all recommend for a beginner like me? i got an idea abt java tho'

Pls help me, am tired of askin mummy for money to get a hair cut...

for me taking classes is the best way i learn. If you're a really good self-learner then I'd recommend reading books/online tutorials then making your own mini projects with what you've learned. The more programs/projects you make, the better.

In a year you can make a lot of great projects, just depends how much time you put into it!

For C++ I like this book: Walter_Savitch_-_Absolute_C++,_4th_Edition_-_2009
