As far as i know, they speak the Egyptian Arabic dialect. Modern standard Arabic is used in the news, newspapers, official documents etc. So I think that since you'll be living in Egypt, it would serve you best to learn Egyptian Arabic. You should try http://arabic.colegioo.com/, it offers the option to learn modern standard Arabic and Egyptian Arabic. I'm learning Egyptian there and I love it! They have audio courses made with native speakers, books, multimedia and so many other ways to help you learn. I've learned so much, I can speak, write and read, I'm amazed with my progress. They just added a live weekly lesson too, the next one is on Sunday (February 5), you can visit the site to find the exact time for your location. Good luck :)

Most people in Egypt speak Egyptian Arabic. Modern Standard Arabic is the form of Arabic used in in most written texts, on the news, across countries, etc., and gives you a good basis for understanding the spoken languages in various Arabic-speaking countries. They are not the same, though, because MSA is based on Classical Arabic, an older form of the language.

At least at the university I studied at, you will probably learn MSA along with other spoken varieties of Arabic (which was Egyptian Arabic where I studied).
