Does Xbox Live still support the original Rock Band multiplayer?

I just got the original Rock Band for the Xbox 360 a few days ago. I know I'm really late to the game. lol.

Anyways, when I try to play any multiplayer mode online, the game just says "searching for players" for a couple of minutes, nothing happens.

The only thing I could think causes this problem is that Harmonix wanted to force people to buy their newer games, so they had Microsoft discontinue Xbox Live for the original game.

Is this the case, or is there some other problem I'm not seeing?

Thanks for your helpful answers.

Yes but nobody's playing it. Nowhere. It's almost four years old. Try one of the more current versions

No that's not what happened. The majority of Xbox Live games do not have dedicated servers so access to multiplayer isn't shut down when a newer version is released. It's just that Rock Band players have moved on to the more recent games. Try adding people you know who also have the game or get a more recent one like 3.

Neither RB or RB2 have many players online anymore; pretty much anybody who played those games moved on to Rock Band 3. Especially since you can export most RB and RB2 songs and play them in RB3 -- it's like having all 3 games in one.
