i just looked on ( edmunds.com) i put in the miles and average condition. They say dealer retail about 1200 and private sell about 850. I never use KBB , they are always too high on their estimates 100 % of the time. . KBB is owned by dealers. no way i would offer 2100. will it pass inspestion in your state with an exhaust leak. if you dont plan on repairing it your self you will be looking at several hundred dollars to repair most likely. Why travel so far to buy such a cheap car ? It must be from a family member or friend i guess. ?
Why would you be traveling all the way to Missouri from Tennessee for a Dodge? There are probably 50 of those Dodge Avengers within 20 miles of your house for sale.
Don't go out of state for a car like this. Your travel expenses will cost you as much as the car.
Let's see. A 15 year old Dodge with over 110k miles with mechanical problems.
I wouldn't give them more than $1200 for it. But I wouldn't give them a dime until I paid a certified mechanic to inspect the car. That "exhaust leak" could be a $200 repair, it could be a $1400 repair. Until you have it inspected you'll never know.
I would offer 400 and not go over 600. But I would have it inspected first by a mechanic, like someone said. A test drive of a good 25 to 30 miles then straight to the mechanic, should be good and warmed up by then and get it up to highway speed.
In fair condition which might consider the leak, it KBB goes for 2,049. I'd try for around there. Maybe a bit less considering you have to pay for the repair.
In my opinion, $1826 the exact price.. Of course after taking the repair costs, leakage, etc. expenses off.Max price should be no higher than $2250. It all depends on how it runs, and how low you can get the price.
