Questions:

Why is there no explanation of this 'outage' posted prominently on the Yahoo homepage or on the news links themselves? Why leave millions of users confused, frustrated and scratching their heads? Why do users have to waste time poking around the site trying to find any information on this 'problem'? Why does this problem keep happening? Why does Yahoo go to such lengths to avoid all contact with or feedback from their users? Why do Yahoo "help" pages offer no actual means for users to get help on ANY issue via chat, email response or by phone?

Before anyone says, "don't complain about a 'free' service", understand this: They are mining our searches for personal information to sell targeted ads to us -- every time you click, it generates more ad revenue for Yahoo. Do you seriously think they offer their services for "free"?

Why does Yahoo display such utter indifference to their users' concerns? Do they not realize this will ultimately come back to bite them in the bottom line, as users abandon their service for friendlier, more responsive servers?

Do you think anyone from Yahoo will respond?

LOL!

Personally, I think it was the climate change denying oil industry troll hackers who were swamping the tornado thread with hate, fear, and other stupid distractions to stop talk about solutions such as this: "The Ford electric Transit Connect is for people who are interested in environmental sustainability but need a rugged work truck." It was the top story and looked bad for Yahoo. I've seen things like comments disappearing after they were up and time was elapsing, thumbs disappearing or being added all at once to hide a comment, and after reporting abuse, avatars and/or names changing right while I'm looking at it, etc. Thursday morning a poster named Mindy brought up climate change and a couple of trolls promptly attacked her personally:"I hate Mindy" said one, "Yeah Mindy sucks" said another. I've been attacked just like that but only when saying something big oil or the nuke industry don't like. And then buttons disappear from your screen making it impossible to post. Obviously the managing of public opinion is being done as part of an agenda. Is this partial shutdown a test to see how we're going to react and get us used to periodic shutdowns? Is this what total functional control by big brother looks like?

Yeah I was about to ask the same thing.

Very dumb for yahoo to do this, 99.9% of "Yahoo News" readers go straight to the comments.

I hope yahoo doesn't think that we read the news because their journalists are so grammatically correct and interesting...

Huh, I only enjoyed reading their news for the comments. They were the best part. Think I'll add CNN or some other news site to my favorites bar now. :(
