I have boy/girl twins but want to wait on potty training my son as he isn't as interested yet.
I have a few potty seats and throughout the day she loves to just run up and sit on the potty, fully clothed or naked, it doesn't matter. She will make grunting noises and "pssssss" noises with her mouth and thinks that's funny (lol). She will put her dolls and bears on the potty and make the noises too.
So far, she only actually peed in the potty once, and actually she sat too far to the edge so essentially she peed on the floor (but I praised her of course for the effort).
I feel like these seem to be good indicators that she is or is near ready. What do you think? What do you suggest?

I managed to get both my kids out of diapers before 2, but it requires being able to tolerate messiness, and I had the luxury of being at home with my kids. Also, I don't have carpets in my house and I stored away my good drapes for this endeavour.
Basically I just let them run around without diapers or pants. They would pee/poo on the floor, of course, but each time, without getting angry, I showed them the pot (have a few around your place) and told them that "pee goes in pot". Eventually they got the point. Stage 2 was letting them run around with no diaper but with pants on. They will pee in their pants at first (be prepared for lots of laundry), but then they will learn that they need to let you know when they have to go (they need your help to pull down their pants).
Pull ups are expensive and did not help at all in my potty training, and if anything, they confused my son.
I think this is really early for potty training normally, but hey, if she's showing an interest, run with it. Some people say to feed the child really salty snacks, then let them drink a ton of liquids and then make them sit on the potty with toys or whatever until they pee and then reward them. that's the basic procedure from the book "potty training in 24 hours". I've never seen this plan in action, it's just something I've heard. I think that every hour, you should put her on the potty until she pees or poops and maybe increase her liquids during the training phase. That should do it. Remember to reward her and praise her each time she goes. Give her toys or books or something to occupy her time until she goes. Good luck! I think she is ready for sure I mean you are allready doing a good job. It takes time though some babies catch on better than others do. My son at 14 months started using the toilet and he would do it by him self. It only took me 2 tries and the second time he went pee. I claped my hands n told him he was a big strong boy and that made him verry happy so from then on he loved going to the bathroom, he would hop on the toilet backwards lol and as for my 21 month old daughter she is scared to sit on the toilet so its hard to train her I even bought her a potty chair and she wouldnt use it. keep doing what you are doing and before you know t she will be goin potty and keep trying to do the same with your son.
