What would cause my mustang to have more power after sitting over the winter.?

I have a 99 mustang which I store in the winter. After taking it out of storage it seems to have more power then it ever has even when it was new. The exhaust also seems to have gotten louder. The only thing I could think of is maybe I blew out some of the catalytic converters or something, but I would have a check engine light on. I am ready for a new exhaust system but as of now this one has been checked and has no leaks. Is there anything else that could be causing this? I have no mods and always use the same brand and octane gas.

Your car doesn't have any more power now than it did before. You just don't have any recent driving experience in a similar car to compare it to. The extra noise could be from a rusted out muffler. Get it checked.

I pulled my '90 GT out of storage last weekend now that the weather is a bit more favorable, and after driving an '04 Expedition around town since November, it felt damn good to be behind the wheel of that old 5.0. Shoot man it felt I was driving the fastest car in town for a while (which was a terrible mindset, that's how you end up making a fool out of yourself). I was doin' 2nd gear pulls all around town and just feelin' great man.
