Alright, I turned 18 not too long ago and I currently have shingles. This is the second time I have gotten shingles. The funny thing is, nobody ever remembers me having chicken pox in the first place, though I hear that shingles is most common with those who had chicken pox when they were 1 yr old or younger. And yes, I know this is shingles as the first time I got it I was 16 and we went to the doctors office and they said it was. It is in the same place and looks exactly the same (and hurts the same) as it did last time. I asked if I could get the vaccine and they said not until I was 60... which sucks. Why can't I get the vaccine? How should I treat the shingles. Last time they just said tough and I'd have to wait it out. Is there anything I can do about it? I've been under tons of stress since I was about 15 and that is what probably has brought it on. Ugh this sucks.

aw that sucks. i'm 16, and i had shingles when i was 11! it hurts like hell right? when i had it what my mom made me do was this: DO NOT scratch or itch it. use calamine lotion. and i don't remember what it was, but my mom used some vitamin, crushed it up, added water so it was a paste and put it on the area where i had it. sorry i'm not much help..
I had Shingles for the first time a few weeks ago. I am normally in good health and haven't had any other health challenges before, so it came as a surprise.
Shingles is probably the most painful thing I have ever encountered. I went to the doctor, and he gave me some prescription drugs to take that was suposed to help, but didn't.
My wife found the Fast Shingles Cure ebook online and bought it for me, I am very lucky to have such a wonderful woman in my life. We followed the book, did what it said, and it delivered what it promised. Finally my Shingles rash is over... I feel truly blessed and thankful.
Gee, I got min right after 50, and maybe they changed the age, but I never heard of anyone getting it that young, I know it's a painful problem attaching the nerve endings and I know someone who got it at 30 or 32, not sure but there are new medications out now, for the itching, and pain. go for it, and good luck, sure hope you don't get it a third time, seems you have a long time to go, maybe another doctor would give you the shot since you had it twice now? Ask some other doctor, hospital or even clinics! I would. It keeps people out of work and out of college/school.
