I want to record a CD of me playing the piano. But I dnt know how to. I have WindowsXP , windows media player, and a webcam and microfone. Specific steps appreciated !!! thanks extra points for best answer!!!

Put the microphone as close as you can to the playing area to record the best sound. A proper microphone, like they use on a stage (costs about $50) would be better for quality.
You will need software but Windows does have a record option Start > Accessories > Media > but only for about 30 seconds. I'm sure you could download some freeware, though. I think the freeware also has limitations but to as much as 3 minutes.
You shouldn't record for more than 3 minutes, anyway, if the output file is in wav format. If recording as an mp3, the file is 10 times less than a wav file size..
