Liberals: When you say "It's time to move on into the 21st century" in tradition arguments, what do you mean?

Is it that we should abandon the obligation, morals, and respect that made the 1950's an 'evil racist nazi conservative era' in your eyes, or is it that we should move forward into a century of debt, recreational sex and drug abuse, anti-religion, criminal violence, and self-indulgence?

What exactly is it that you people want in this new '21st century' concept? It's pretty clear that the interests of the human race aren't at heart in your ideology.

"We say that because right-wingers are stuck in the 20th century, or even the 19th century."
(Life really was one whole hell of a lot better back then. Imagine if we had the modern conveniences and civil progress of today, while in the same economic, moral and respectable climate of the 1950's.)

"There are many things we’ve done on civil rights that righties want to roll back. Examples include:
-Violence Against Women Act
(Yay discrimination! Women never abuse men, it's always men abusing women cause they're testosterone laced bastards!)

-Student Loan Reform
(Hell, just make college free.)

-Voting Rights
(No sarcasm here: The conservative state of Wyoming was the first to allow women to vote. Sorry, bub)

-Child Labor Laws
(No sarcasm here: Now kids sit around smoking pot or playing videogames. They should have the choice to get a job early. So tell me; why not?)

-Worker’s Rights
(No sarcasm here: Unions aren't exactly the same as they

We say that because right-wingers are stuck in the 20th century, or even the 19th century.

There are many things we’ve done on civil rights that righties want to roll back. Examples include:

-Violence Against Women Act

-Student Loan Reform

-Voting Rights

-Child Labor Laws

-Worker’s Rights

-Fair Pay for Women

-A constitutional ban on contraception and abortion - even pre-marital sex in a case or two.

-Some righties don’t like the Civil Rights Act. Rand Paul, for example, said he felt a restaurant owner has the right to put a “Whites Only” sign in his window.

-Americans With Disabilities Act. They’d like to end that.

-Public Education...the very thing that built a strong middle-class in this country...they’d like to provide an education only to those who can afford it.

-Environmental Regulations.

Etc.

See...that’s all BACKWARDS...not forwards.

Yes, we do need to abandon the "morals" that made the 1950's an oppressive time.

Those morals aren't our morals, or pretty much anyone's. We now think everyone should have equal rights.

Perhaps because preserving traditions is contradictory according to the liberal mindset? They believe that reality's inherently dynamic and things are not the same forever.

That's why they're against traditional values, because they're not new.

It means they should adopt economic and governmental policies that were first introduced in the 1930s.
