Fox News is a for profit corporation. They found a niche by appealing to Republicans and they're making a fortune. Why would they ever want to do anything else?

They always have been.

I used to watch Fox quite a bit after 9/11 until I realized they exploit any story for ratings!

Bill O'really was going on and on about how the Red Cross was hoarding all the donations they were collecting for 9/11.

A few days after he started I happened to turn on CNN.They were interviewing the lady who was running the Red Cross(RC) at the time. She was under a lot of pressure from what Bill was saying. She stated that some of the money was used to replenish supplies they(RC) supplied from the first day.She went on to explain they(RC) were supplying the ground zero workers with work boots because they were wearing out a pair for every 8 hour shift because the ground was so hot.She also said they were providing bottled water and food to help keep the workers hydrated and replenish their strength. She also said the reason they were not giving out monetary benefits to people making claims was because they wanted to make sure the people making claims had actually lost people in 9/11!

What do you mean by ".....has turned into political organization"? Haven't they ALWAYS been the cheer-leaders for, and the sewer mouthpiece of, the (almost extreme) right-wing ?
You also add (and I am quoting you) "I want real news not this BS." So, what is stopping you from NOT watching and/or listening to "this BS" ? I presume (=hope) you live in a free society where you are not FORCED to do so. Switch over to where you get "real news". It, really, is that simple.

Take care.

PS This is in response to Genevieve's comment above :

Genevieve, after reading what you had to say about John M's "spelling and grammatical errors", please do enlighten us where he erred with his spellings. I may be wrong, but I see no spelling mistakes. Secondly, have you heard the saying about "people who live in glass houses...." ?
Now let us check YOUR grammar, and mastery of the English language :

"Then your opinion might be at worth." Should it not be "worth it" ? Tut ! Tut !

" I'll admit, though, that Fox News does share their opinion a lot when they're not supposed to."
Ummm.....If you want/wish to be grammatically correct, you should say "....that Fox News "DO share their opinion....." Or, you may say "......that Fox News does share ITS opinion...."

Like you said, "Hope you learned something today."

Have a nice day !

Hey, you know what's funny?
I'm glad you don't watch Fox News, because it just shows how stupid the left is. Check all your spelling and grammatical errors in your question. Then your opinion might be at worth.
I'll admit, though, that Fox News does share their opinion a lot when they're not supposed to. But what news channel doesn't? CNN and MSNBC do the exact same, but they would never admit it.
Just because Fox News is the most highly-rated news channel, does not make it 'BS.'
Hope you learned something today.

Because that's what people tune in for.

The information age gives us an immense explosion in choices when it comes to where we get our information. If you want reliable, well-edited, professional news, you can read something like the New York Times or the Wall Street Journal, or just get stuff straight from the Associated Press or similar organizations. There's still a good market for real news - you just have to know where to look (and, usually, be willing to READ your news, rather than WATCH it).

If you want an extension to Rush Limbaugh or Jon Stewart in politically-colored news, you can watch FOX or MSNBC, or go to the Drudge Report or the Huffington Post. For that matter, if those places aren't slanted ENOUGH for you, you can find even more obscure, specific, ultra-filtered places to get your news: you could get it straight from Glenn Beck, for instance, or tune in to NPR.

As it turns out, quite a lot of people don't WANT credible news - they want an echo chamber for their political beliefs. FOX is just one of many companies that serve exactly that sort of person.
