Is this illegal passing in Colorado?
I've seen this a few times. The opposing side is 2 lanes wide and has a solid line. My side is one lane wide and a dotted line. I've been passed on the left by a car, but the opposing side had cars in the slow or right lane. This seems extremely dangerous, as a car on the opposing lane can have a truck in front they cannot see around, and try to pass it, legally, and encounter the car in the opposite direction.
But I can't find a law that covers this, except it being dangerous (the law of common sense).
update:
Yeah, i read the rule to be "as long as the opposing lane is clear" but that does not specify both lanes or the other passing lane".
I think I am going to the traffic office, to get a definitive answer.
