The Obama administration is changing the federal immigration enforcement strategy in ways that reduce the threat of deportation for millions of illegal immigrants, even as states such as Arizona, Colorado, Virginia, Ohio and Texas are pushing to accelerate deportations.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Director John Morton ordered agency officials on Aug. 20 to begin dismissing deportation cases against people who haven't committed serious crimes and have credible immigration applications pending.
Why should illegals be allowed to stay in the US while their immigration applications are pending? Why shouldn't they be forced to go home & wait for a visa like LEGAL immigrants are required to do?

You talk as if this wasn't status quo. Obama has tossed out more illegal aliens than the republicans ever did. Bush is the only president in recent history who sent an amnesty bill to congress.

Why didn't you bother reading the article you posted? If you were paying attention you would know that the Obama administration is even harsher than the Bush administration was on the victims of U.S. policy.
