Does anyone know what happened to former 2nd round draft pick Shawn Curran?

Ok, here's what I know about him. 2nd round draft pick of the Baltimore Orioles as a catcher in 1991, played 2 partial seasons for the GCL Orioles, then dropped out of baseball. He died at age 32 on November 9, 2005 in Tustin, California. I can't find anything about how he died and was wondering if anyone knew what happened to him?
Side note: I have the utmost respect for the dead and am only curious about what happened, nothing more

Try the Orange County Register (A news paper in Orange County) Obituary Dept of their archival records.

This is the only solid lead I could find.

The Islanders could be the poster child for trading 1st round picks. Since 1993: Bertuzzi, Redden, J.P. Dumont, Luongo, Eric Brewer, Tim Connoly, Taylor Pyatt, Raffi Torres, Robert Nillson, Ryan O'Marra, plus a few lesser knowns still in the NHL. Only Dipietro, Sean Bergenheim, and Kyle Okposo are with the team. In 2001 & 2007 they didn't have a 1st round pick.
