Why do girls try to make guys jealous ?

I've noticed it happens a lot to me and a lot of my friends. I always had the theory that if someone didn't care about you while you were there, they'll care less when you're not there but a lot of people think otherwise. I know it's not just girls who do this but where I live it's wah more common for girls to try to get a guy jealous than the other way around.

I'm not saying anyone is stupid or anything I just want to know the reason people do this .

It's simple, girls like getting attention :( And if it's from a guy that didn't pay attention before they see it as a bonus.
