Have you seen this and what is it?

Ok I noticed this the first time last week when Jimmie Johnson wrecked at Kansas and was on pit road, they were working on his car, these was a fluid squirting from the rear fender of his car, I thought it was from the wreck. But then I noticed the same thing happening on Jeff Gordon's car in a clip they showed when he was on pit road, his car was not wrecked. So this must be a standard thing that happens, but have not noticed it before, can you tell me what it is?

It was on the upper left rear fender. Not far behind where they put in the fuel in.

EDIT: So would the fuel being coming out right after someone has wrecked, gas had not been put in?

They were worrying that they could not get fuel in it after the wreck.

I saw that too and was thinking it must be coming from a fuel overflow.

Sawmill is right. There is a lot of fuel going in. Therefore,
there is a large exit tube for air. When the tank is full, There
will be fuel come out the vent tube.
