Can I eat this???????

I've been a strict vegetarian for years. No gelatin,fish..y'know. My favourite sweets have changed, the pectin has now been replaced with humectant gelatine.. What is this? Where does it come from? I've not come across it before. I'm guessing Its unsuitable for me ):
Thanks

Are you sure it doesn't say humectant GLYCEROL? I've come across that, but not humectant gelatin.

There is some debate about whether humectant is vegetarian. Originally it wasn't, it was derived from animal fats, but it can also be made from plants, and nowadays it usually is. But I don't want to give you the wrong information. If it's vegetarian, it probably says on the packet, and if not, you could email the company.

It obviously bothers you since you mentioned it. Switch to a great raw fruit like dragon fruit or leechees and forget about processed junk food. Every cell in you body is made of what you feed it. What's more beautiful a dragon fruit or a twizzler.
