If Obama can call Bush irresponsible and unpatriotic for raising the deficit by 4 trillion in 8 years, then Obama raising the deficit by 5 trillion in four years should also be seen by democrats as unpatriotic.

Either that or their double standards are showing.

I would like to point out the national debt at the end of the last few president's terms

Reagan 2,684,392,000,000
Bush SR. 4,177,009,000,000
Clinton 5,662,216,013,697
Bush JR. 10,699,804,864,612
Obama 15,125,898,986,397

So is it irresponsible and unpatriotic that Bush nearly doubled the debt? I don't consider myself strongly towards either side. I think each president is doing what he can to make the US a great place to live. It's a hard job that I've never done and would never judge until I do.

It is irresponsible and unpatriotic to gridlock the nation by failing to act in the congress that your party controls. It is not unpatriotic to increase the deficit if the revenues fall due to a huge economic crises that started on the watch of the previous president and the party controlling the congress fails to raise taxes to increase revenue and mitigate the deficit.

The National Debt may bring this country to its knees within five or ten years. All the money that was created will eventually result in inflation. If inflation increases we will be paying our entire budget to interest on the national debt. We will become Somalia.
