I have my Multimeter set to 10A and it displays 0.08 ... how many milliamps?
I have my multimeter within the ciruit while attaching a cigarette lighter extension (with small light inside). My multimeter dial is set to 10A and it reads 0.08 on the digital display. How many milliamps or Amps is this?
0.8 Amps or 0.08 Amps? and 80 milliamps or 800 milliamps?
Thanks

If you have the meter set to 10A and you see 0.08 on the display then what you have is 80mA. This is my reasoning. 1000 mA is equivalent to 1 A so if you were to see 8.0 on your meter that would be 8 amps or 8000 mA. Since your display shows 0.08 you move the decimal two places to the left on 8000 and get 80.
Also, if you plug 0.080A into this online calculator you can see the result is also 80 mA Amp to mA online calculator:
On the 10A range the maximum reading will be 10A and appear as 10.00 or err if it exceeds that. Any reading below that is read as displayed so 2.0 would be 2.0A and0.08 is 0.08A is 80mA (0.8 would be 800mA). If you click down to the 1A range the reading 0.08 shouldn't change and will still mean 80mA. If you click down to the 100mA range you should get a reading of 80, ie, 80mA.
