Messenger 11.5 will not install?
No matter what I try messenger run the installation and at the end it says it was not installed correctly. I don't have any anti virus or firewalls running during installation.

The Messenger download site has been having problems recently, but there is an alternative method that works. (File Hippo) If you install from the Yahoo site http://messenger.yahoo.com without deleting your other program, you may have problems. (Delete via the Control Panel) Here is the Yahoo Help page with specifics on how to re-install Messenger or update it safely, for Vista or Win 7 (using Safe Mode with Networking) ...

*** If you have made a previous unsuccessful attempt to download or the installation refused to install, you will need to use another technique Using the File Hippo download is successful, and trustworthy:
Download and SAVE the program directly from the File Hippo web site. Install it only AFTER deleting the program through the Control Panel and completely cleaning the registry of remnants. Download the most recent version of any Yahoo Instant Messenger (highest number, top of its list) You must be operating as an Administrator to install the program.
Whether or not you use Internet Explorer 8 or 9 as your browser, it must be updated too (Windows updates). Yahoo Messenger 10 or 11 will not work properly without updated Flash and Java programs also installed. It is no longer necessary to delete the older version first - the updates will install successfully on top of the older programs. (Update these programs even for other browsers.)

Try the the standalone installer that Yahoo staff have listed here. It seems to work for some people.
