Why won't my car turn on? Please help?

Question

I drive a 1999 honda accord v6. It has 230k miles. However, it was my dads and they bought it brand new and have always took really good care of it. I just got my license 6 months ago and they gave me the car, so I hardly have that much time with it. I don't know much about cars, but my dad always checks it for me. It runs super great and always turns on right away and never had a problem. 

Just last night I went out to the mall with my cousins and got home at 11:30pm. Everything was fine. This morning at 8am when I was getting ready to leave to class, my car simply wouldn't turn on. This is the first time it's ever happened to me or anybody. When I turn the key it just keeps clicking but doesn't turn on. My uncle gave me a jump start and that didnt work. He told me it needs a new starter. The lights work fine and the radio too. What could be the problem? The battery number reads 13.8.

 I don't want to tell my dad, so I will be going to the mechanic by myself. Thanks for help

If its audibly clicking, then the starter is probably fine. Check your engines oil level to make sure there's enough oil. An engine can lock up if there's not enough oil and cause the clicking sound you're describing.

That question is almost impossible to answer.....car engines are very complicated things and there are dozens of things that could cause it to not start.

 It could be an ignition problem, fuel pump, computer problem, faulty wiring.....the list goes on and on.

Sorry I can't give you a clear answer, but without physically seeing the car, it's impossible........although the mechanic will just hook up a code reader and most likely have an answer in seconds

Normally when you turn the key and you hear a clicking sound it is the starter solenoid that is not working ,new solenoid needed .

relies upon on the humming sound somewhat: a noisy (incorrect) buzzer - probably the starter selinoid a lengthy spinning sound - it extremely is the starter bendix. both way your searching at about one hundred.00 or as a way to fix and get ya lower back on the line !!!
