Question about Natsume Yuujinchou?

So I'm currently near the middle-end of Natsume Yuujinchou San (the third season).  I've heard that Natsume Yuujinchou is supposed to get better with each season.  Natsume Yuujinchou is probably one of my most favorite series, but it doesn't seem to be getting any better.  In fact, it seems the atmosphere has lost a bit of what it once had and the episodes seem to be less exciting and filled with more action (not that that's a bad thing).  The music is even better though.  So, for anyone who has seen the whole Natsume Yuujinchou series, does the series really get better, in your opinion?

The entire series is supposed to be that way , it goes on the same pace , if you don't like it by now I don't think you will , maybe try watching some more to see what you feel about it , it's not like any other anime , it just feels different , most anime start off quiet and then , for lack of a better term "explode" and go on very fast ,
