What does "concern" mean in the following? And "He is thoroughly related"?

Every warehouse and shop-window, every fruit-tree, every thought of every hour, opens a new want to him, which it concerns his power and dignity to gratify.
the philosophers have laid the greatness of man in making his wants few; but will a man content himself with a hut and a handful of dried pease? He is born to be rich. He is thoroughly related; and is tempted out by his appetites and fancies to the conquest of this and that piece of nature, until he finds his well-being in the use of his planet, and of more planets than his own.

Concerns:
He has many materialistic desires.
Possible meaning 1: What he wants embarrasses him because it hurts his pride to want them
Possible meaning 2: He needs to use his abilities, like money, to get those things he wants.

He is thoroughly related:
He is linked to what he wants. Basically, what he wants and what he likes is a big part of how he is defined, or who he is as a person.

I think, YES.Without Concern, He is Concerned Himself, to Relate Himself with the All Things in the Nature, Which is He is Encountering in Front of Him, to OWN, Until He DISOWN His Body, without Known to Himself. But, What a Pathetic Human, He IS !
