In a perfect liberal world...?
The police would be the only people who would have guns. BUT, if they are the only people that have guns who would they use them on? What would be the need to carry them if they are the soul keepers of fire arms?

A perfect liberal world would never be a possibility in America, because of the behavior of Americans. In a liberal utopia there would be nothing but peace, love, and happiness. Everything in John Lennon's song "Imagine" would become a reality. Everyone would be equal. Everything would be fair. Everyone would work together for the common good of a society. But, what if someone didn't want to work. What if someone just, flat out, didn't want to do their "fair share" of work. What if they just wanted to "bang on de drum all day". Before long, all everyone wanted to do was smoke weed and bang on de drum all day. Imagine there's no corporate snack food manufacturers, it's easy if you tried. How long before one of the liberals says, "This isn't working, we need some rules, no more free rides, and I am now in charge!" A liberal utopia will never survive, because no society has ever shown it can. I hear liberals bi*ch and moan about the wealthy all the time, but what if the wealthy didn't exist?

It doesn't need to be a perfect world. It would only need to be, for example, Japan.
In Japan, only the cops have guns. They are attached by a chain to their belts. They never need to use them unless someone is in a rage with a weapon (highly rare). The purpose they serve is to show authority, which is not any small impact. Nevertheless in the socialist environment, cops are not fascist, and solve nearly all problems through discussion, and very rarely make arrests, simply talking over infractions for the most part and solving the problem with a level head (imagine that -- no fascism).
There you have it. Not at all a perfect world, only a REAL world. Glad to set you straight on reality in your imperfect con world.

Not a liberal but a practical world. British police do not, to this day, carry firearms because British criminals do not typically carry firearms.either. I think it appropriate that the police should mirror the public that it monitors. If the public changes, then the police should change also.

We need Gun Control as much as Custer needed more Indians!
When seconds matter calling 911 and asking the bad guy to wait is not a viable option.
**Police do not protect you from crime, they usually just investigate the crime after it happens.**

In a perfect liberal world, our political discussions wouldn't be dominated by endless fake scandals and outright lying from Hearst-like fake conservative news media.
