Life is a random runaway chemical process that began billions of years ago, and there's every indication that it will continue on billions of years into the future, until the sun becomes a red giant and makes earth uninhabitable.
There is no built-in meaning. The word meaning was a word we humans invented to symbolize a concept of our's known as purpose and such, yet it is a word we forget has no atomic structure in reality. A rock you can roll, but a meaning you cannot bowl.
