Need an opinion on this family matter.....please.?
My husband and I live in Indiana and my daughter is in Oregon. She and her husband are expecting their first. In fact the baby will most likely come today. My husband is doing a flea market this weekend and leaving later today. I am keeping him posted all day and we are flying out there next month. Cannot believe that I got a comment from a family member that....'Isn't he changing his plans with the baby coming today?' We are thousand miles apart and keeping posted with text and phone. Guess they think we should be physically together during this time. I am not a callus person but just thought we can share the event together via phone and celebrate with a dinner wine when he gets back....and in August we will go visit!!!! Am I wacky????
Note-The comment was made by a family member that feels my husband and I should be together physically awaiting the birth....in Indiana. Not even in Oregon. My daughter wanted it to just be her and her husband for this wonderful event which I 100% agree with. Some family members don't like him doing this flea market period.....4-5 xs annually. They don't think I should be alone (3-4 days) and I like the time by myself....I can paint, not fix meals, slob. Think they feel they will wear me down. This is my husbands retirement and he loves to do this. The rest of the time he does odd jobs, does a local flea market and is always busy. He is a good fella. We just don't do things like they do. I am too old for this nonsense. I try to respect everyone's feelings/concern but this makes me tired.
