Transmission Fluid Types?

Is Toyota T-4 fluid the same as Dextron 6? How about Toyota WS fluid is it also the same as Dextron 6?
I looked Castrol fluid and it was for several car makes compable with Dex 6, so is Toyota just renaming the fluid for it's own promotion?

I am not referring to transmission types i.e CVT,just the fluid types because I see some brands say one thing while others say something else. I do not like to guess but it appears that Dex 6 is very similar to t4 & WS types.

If you have a CVT type trans Then the fluid has to be for that type of trans I don't think the dextron is ok for the CVT type trans i could be wrong But maybe the part numbers from Toyota are just that one is dextron or compatible with dextron while the other is for a CVT trans Not sure But if you do have that type of trans Then i would run only fluid approved for a CVT
