The economy is still struggling with high unemployment and more people on the welfare rolls and getting food stamps. No real solutions from Obama. Taxing the rich does not create jobs and idiotic regulations by government agencies not only do not create jobs they put people out of work. He just does not get free market economics. Also his racist speech about Trayvon plus Putin's making him look like a fool has not helped his approval rating either. Even Democrats are blasting him for Obama Care which could put the middle working class in dire straits with massive health insurance premium increases.

His lack of honesty in terms of claiming there are "phony scandals" is not helping things. I like a leader who admits mistakes, apologizes, and learns from them instead of denial. I think that has hurt him.
I think as time goes on, also, that the public has been turned off by Obama-care as they know that full time vs. part time jobs are vanishing. They know how much more expensive their own health insurance costs have become. They see inequities such as the house, senate and Obama, himself, not getting Obama-care as they are now the elite exempt. I'd like to be exempt too. If it's not good enough for them and for powerful unions, it's not good enough for the rest of us. It is time to de-fund it and go back to the drawing board. But, we have stubborn people in his staff and in the senate that will not look out for us anymore. It's all about power and posturing your party to look like the "good guys". Well, I assure you that none of them, on both sides look like the good guys to me anymore.
I'm disgusted with the lot of them.
In my lifetime, I have been a Democrat (when I was young and starry eyed and foolish, sorry) and then I was an Independent and then a Republican. I am heading to the town hall and re-registering as an independent again very soon. I'm tired of them all fighting with each other and not getting things in our best interest done. I do not want to associate with any of them anymore. I was even thinking of being registered as a Libertarian as I do agree with a few of them nowadays, but honestly, it all makes me positively ill.
We the people need to seriously re-consider who is representing us. I don't know who it should be, but I sure do know that the ones we have truly suck.

Polling companies are paid to poll from various lists they have, of certain types voters; you pay them to get the results you want, these guys knew who to poll to get 41% --- Hey, you can pay them to poll for you too, tell them what results you are looking for.
Common Sense
Perhaps because there was nowhere else for it to go based upon his performance.
