So I was up in New York at the time and decided it would be a good time to tell him I'm gay. Now I've know him my whole life. We had a real heart to heart and he took it real well.He was actually upset that I was so afraid to tell him. He told me he would always be my friend and he was crying while he said it. But now its August and I try to text him and he doesn't reply. I figured that well maybe hes busy and just can't talk so I don't wanna annoy him. Now I'm fearing that maybe he didn't take it as well as he said. I don't wanna lose my best friend and its even harder since we live in different states. :(

Just text him like once a week or something. The fact that u live in two different states is hard because u don't know wht happened like if his phone broke or what. But keep tryin to contact him after a couple months or a year if he doesn't reply well he's not a good best friend then cuz best friends r always spoused to stick together. If he doesn't want to then just get urself a new best friend
First, it's great that you've come clean with yourself and your friend. What could have happened is that someone said something to him about having a gay friend, and could even be threatening him. Also, your best friend could also be gay and could be trying to find himself, I don't know. Or the worst case scenario is that he truely doesn't like you being gay, but I hope that's not that case. But more than likely what happened was someone said something to him about having a gay friend that he didn't like, so he might just be avoiding you so he won't have to tell you the truth. Congratulations on coming out, it must have taken a lot of bravery, hope this helps :)
