Why do conservatives assume liberals support everything Obama does?

First, before you guys start crying "where is the liberal outrage over Syria?", let me make something perfectly clear:

I am against going into Syria.
I am as against going into Syria as I was Iraq, Afghanistan and everywhere else we've invaded in the past decade.
I will continue to speak out against war and attend anti-war protests no matter who is president.

And while I'm clearing things up, let me also say that I am against government spying, prosecuting whistleblowers, the police state, and a long laundry list of other things Obama is doing. The difference between you and me is that I have always been against these things, whereas most of you are only against them now that Obama is president.

So my question is, are you actually paying attention to what's going on, or do you just assume that if conservatives are against something (now, because you hate Obama, even though you were for it under Bush), that means liberals automatically love it?

And would you please stop doing that? Thanks.

@LibertyLover: anarcho-socialism IS a liberal philosophy.

Democrat does not automatically mean liberal.

@DinDjinn: because they talk about it all the time. I'm constantly seeing, "why do liberals love [insert thing Obama is doing that liberals don't actually love]?" and "where are the liberals now that Obama is doing [insert thing conservatives praised Bush for that they suddenly realize is bad now that Obama is doing it]?"

Answer: I'm right here! I protested government corruption then and I'm protesting it now. I haven't changed my positions on anything, and yet conservatives continue to falsely accuse liberals of doing the very thing they themselves are guilty of. The only two explanations are: they are consciously lying out of malice, or else they are making some willfully ignorant and wildly unfounded assumptions because they can't bear the idea of admitting that liberals were actually right about something after all.

They project. They see everything they do in everybody else.

"The trouble with our liberal friends is not that they're ignorant; it's just that they know so much that isn't so." Ronald Reagan
The Liberal ideology is a theory which holds forth beliefs that have no basis in reality.
They are Advocates of a policy that empowers a strong government to enslave its people with a high tax burden incident to the support of extravagant and unnecessary social programs destructive to both the work ethic among the lower class, and the incentive to innovate and succeed among the working class.
The problems we face today are because the people who work for a living are outnumbered by those who vote for a living.
A democracy will continue to exist up until
the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous
gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority
always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from
the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally
collapse over loose fiscal policy
A broken government can't be fixed by the same government that broke it.

Because you can mention any of the numerous things that Obama has done that goes against liberal ideology and you will find a liberal that supports it.

The far right follows the herd. They think that everyone else does, too.
