What sort of retaliation should be tolorated after being squited by the opposing team with Gatorade?

Really, this could apply to any sport.

Panthers RW Scottie Upshall denied he squirted Lightning rookie D Radko Gudas with water in the second period of Sunday's game. It was blue Gatorade, he said, laughing.

Basic Gudas fell next to the Panther bench after a check & was squirted with Gatorade by Upshall. Gudas got up, smashed his stick on the boards, and was ejected from the game.

Soooooooo.......ooooooooooo........oooooooooo.......

What reaction or retaliation should be accepted to make the confrontation a wash...(no penalties given)? Spit in the face? Flip the bird? Punch in the face? Or be classy, and kick his tail on the ice?

I really can't watch a game without STILL thinking of somebody on here. Miss you guys, as well. Homes is good. Working hard and loving it. I never want to work for myself again.

Still have the Habs vs Leafs in the Belle Centre on my bucket list. One of these days, I'll renew my passport and head up there. Maybe we could have a Y!A reunion.

Referees and linesmen can't always see what goes on away from the play. But Brendan and his friends should have a say especially if it's Upshall. a player who always has played on the edge and was a favourite of an old friend of ours.
Speaking of that any little homes yet?

Unfortunately no retaliation seems to be tolerated and the retaliation always gets the penalty call. I think there should be severe penalties for anyone on the bench getting involved in the play. Maybe not the automatic 10 games for leaving the bench, but an automatic suspension for anyone on the bench who gets invoved with anyone on the ice in any manner. Ho often does a stick get left sticking over the boards or a door get opened as I guy is hit into it. Too often. The squirt is harmless in an of itself but it can lead to nast needless retaliation.

Edit we will be there for that leafs/habs game, although It will be a leafs win. I saw the habs beat the leafs at the Forum but I think I have seen them 5 times since at the bell centre- all losses

How is Homes?

EDIT2

Then you may have to leave me home, I seem to be the jinx for leafs games anyway.

As a guy with a bit of a short fuse on the ice, I won't pretend that I am capable of taking the 'classy' route, even though this would be the best move. I also don't think I would have used my stick, or physical contact. Knowing myself, there would be a few curse words and empty fight challenges sent the other way.

Personally thought the ejection was a bit of overkill. Don't blame Gudas in the least for his temper flaring up, that kind of stuff would piss me off something fierce.

I say classy and kick his tail on the ice. Won't happen, though.

Wow! It's good to see a familiar face. I still cannot buy gas at a gas station without thinking of you and the story you told about putting odd amounts of gas in your car to make people scratch their heads.

If I was Gudos and it really bothered me .. the next game I would line up beside Upshall and say "Pretty funny what you did with the water bottle ... NOW I AM GOING TO PUNCH YOUR FACE!!!!"

But chances are I would be over it 15 mintues after the game and move it ... it was a non-incident
