Luke 2:34 Then Simeon blessed them, and said to Mary His mother, “Behold, this Child is destined for the fall and rising of many in Israel, and for a sign which will be spoken against 35 (yes, a sword will pierce through your own soul also), that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.”

Joshua 24:15
And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

Geez, I'm sorry, that's practically ancient history. The Scripture references are saying there's nothing like the present. And it bears mentioning that's ancient history too. I mean literally.

I might have to make evil choices, but that doesn't mean I have to go out and put myself in situations where a choice between good and evil has to be made.

wait on the Lord,
1 Cor. 1: 7
7 So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ:
Luke 12: 36
36 And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately.
