Because most people who go to emergency rooms do not go in for what is really an emergency. The people who do triage know this. My girlfriend's brother got taken to one last year after a bike accident. He had a concussion, broken clavicle and wrist (they found out later). He went right in because he was a _real_ emergency. Same with me when I had an accident years ago. A little after that, I had to go do County because I had sliced my finger and severed an artery. They made me wait an hour. But that was right because it wasn't an emergency, though it had to be cleaned and stitched. I seriously challenge anyone who supports a single-payer system to offer that this will change for the better. As for care in general, my boss's uncle in Sweden waited 18 months for knee replacement surgery. All the while, he was out of work on disability. His mother, here in the US, waited 3 months for the same surgery. she was back to work sooner, and in pain for more than a year's less time. Yet we want to copy something like the Swedish model? That is a model of inefficiency.

You really need to wait a good 3-4 hours to build up fluid in your bladder and drinking too much water will only dilute your urine and give you a negative (hopefully in your case, you are pregnant and you just get a false negative). You inspired me to take a test! Well I got a BFN! Again!

Erm don't want to put a downer on this but if you've drunk 3 pints it might have made your urine too dilute to pick up the hCG hormone! I think it's best to pee when you can, then restrict fluids so you get a concentrated sample to test later on today. If the pee is too dilute you may get a negative even if you are pregnant.

Honey you might have drank too much to get a good answer now you could have diluted the HCG in your pee. Need to have a nice concentrated wee

Be careful drinking so much water. You could dilute your urine and get a false negative. Wait until the morning and try it without drinking anything.

if it does come out neg, dont take that as a final answer! it could be that all the water you drank diluted your urine enough it didnt pick up the hormone! let us know!

You don't a lot of urine. Just a table spoon should be enough. Calm down and relax so that you are not all worked up with your body being up tight.
