Decreased libido/losing your sex drive isn't all that common of a side effect for Xanax although it can happen since the drug is a CNS depressant. According to the package insert for the drug, the incidence of decreased libido was in 14.4% patients taking alprazolam vs. 8% who took a placebo.

If you by chance do experience a decrease in sex drive, it is not a permanent side effect. Your sex drive would certainly come back in a few days at the longest....Show more
