Number of years = 2010 – 2001 = 9 years
use compound interest formula
A = P( 1 + r/100)^N
= 2800(1 + 5/100)^9
= 4344

You do 2800*1.05^9 = 4344 to nearest hundred 4300.
Or population(2800) *percentage increase per year(5% so 1.05)^number of years(9)
^ stands for to the power of
l
4,300 rounded to the nearest hundred.
