nuts are calorie dense so if you are trying to lose wt then they need to be kept in moderation. But if that isn't an issue they are excellent. They have "good" fats in them and are packed full of nutrients.

Worried about the fat content?

Nuts are high in fat, but much of it is the heart-healthy variety. The amounts of saturated fat, the type of fat we should avoid, varies between nuts and has been flagged below. Aim to eat those in the amber and green bands most of the time and enjoy those in red category occasionally.

Red (high saturated fat content)

Brazil nuts
Macadamias
Cashews

Amber (medium saturated fat content)

Walnuts
Pecans
Pistachios

Green (low saturated fat content)

Chestnuts
Hazelnuts
Almonds
Chestnuts

Dude you're eating like 600-700 calories of nuts a day. The high fat content or effects on cholesterol are not the bad part because most of the fat is healthy and it has mostly beneficial effects on blood cholesterol. It's the calorie content which is bad. Eat too many calories and then you gain fat...

Drop carbs. Increase healthy fats and protein.

So eat nuts until you feel sick of eating them. You'll be fine.
