I'm getting burnt out on college...how do I push through?

I have attended a community college for 2 years, and plan to attend a local university in the Fall. I am already sick of school and have no true passion for anything. I don't know if my major (education) is what I want to spend all of this time getting a degree for.

I don't really want to attend college but there's no other way to get a decent job and make a living. How do I overcome this stage of not being interested in school at all?

Sign up with a school and substitute teach, that will tell you if you want to pursue an education degree.
Find your 'passion' before investing any more time in college.
There are many trades that do not require college and people make a good living at.
Do you like to work on cars, paint, computer tech. etc. All are trades you learn from another, but do not go to college.
Some people are not made for college and a trade is a better fit. There is no way to get over not being interested in college. You just trudge through til you are finished.

Taking on opportunities is the best way to overcome slumps like this. Find unique opportunities at school or in the community that interest you. It doesn't matter whether or not it relates to your career path, just find something that you think you would like. A sport, volunteering at a wildlife rescue, lessons in music or fitness, a unique internship, etc... Take one day a week to do what YOU want to do. Take up a project, learn a new skill, visit a museum, walk in the park, etc....

The most you get in touch with yourself and what you like the better you will be able to figure out what you want to do with life.

Good luck!

I decided to get a college degree after getting a couple of low-paying retail jobs with customers who feel justified in yelling at you just because they bought a cheap item on sale.

Maybe start working as a preschool teacher or at a weekend daycare to get an idea of what you don't want to do. Or want to do. Good luck.
