I just got prescribed Norco 10-325. I took it for the first time and went out to a restaurant. I had spicy food and after eating i started to not feel well. I felt extremely nauseous. I also ending up sweating a ton. After a while I ended up throwing up. Even after I threw up I continued to sweat, and have trouble staying up. In the past I was prescribed hydrocodone 7.5-325 and I've taken 6 of those in the past. Today I took 5 of the 10-325. I never had symptoms like this before. What is wrong?

It is very likely the hydrocodone in the Norco. What you are describing are very common side effects to a good sized dose of just about any opiate drug. And you have to remember what constitutes a big dose is different for everyone. That can make a huge difference as to how a couple milligrams more or less will hit you. As a general rule you should never eat anything when taking an opiate that you do not want to taste coming back up. You can sweat gallons, which dries you out, so you drink more liquids which then have a tendency to rebound on you. The other less likely but more dangerous issue is an excessive amount of Tylenol. Any drug you get that has hydrocodone in it also contains a sizable amount of acetaminophen in it as well This can cause stomach upset and more often than you might think can cause liver failure. So I hope that was 5 and 6 tablets throughout the course of the day, not at once. But as to your final question, there is nothing wrong. That is what opiates do.The dose may be a wee bit high, but if the pain is significant enough to require the whole of the directed dose, try to take it easy, you body will adjust in a short time and these side effects will diminish then disappear. This will not affect.the amount of pain relief. Remember too you can always take less if you can handle the lessened pain control. If for some reason you should also develop diarrhea there is another possiblity. Food poisoning. If anything Norco would block you up like a cork in a wine bottle. It can constipate severely and that is a side effect that doesnt dissipate over time. If you have to, use a laxative. Feel better soon.
