How does pre ordering at GameStop work?

I pre ordered Pokemon Alpha Sapphire last week, and the game comes out at midnight tonight. I really don't want to head over to GameStop at midnight to get a game, so I'm planning to pick up my game tomorrow. The only thing is, I'm worried that by the time I get there, they will be all sold out! Should I get up really early and go there first thing in the morning, or are they going to hold me a copy since I pre ordered? Thanks.

Pre-ordering locks a game for you. They will keep them separate from the other games available for those who didn't pre-order for 5 days or so.

So if you go in tomorrow morning or afternoon, you'll be fine. You don't have to be there at midnight tonight.

you go online or in a store and asks the guy about a upcoming game and you pre order it, usually when you pre-order you get some extra bonus like a new pro controller when you pre order the new super smash bros, so i personally recommend you to pre order to get some extra features

Depends if its digital or in-store pick up. Digital they will e-mail you a code that you will use to redeem the game or a money voucher for the price of the game. If it is instore then you will just travel to the store on the day of release and show them your receipt and get your game. Nothing too complicated
