Getting eyebrows waxed for the first time?

Hello,
One of my local hair salons is offering a makeover including highlights, a haircut, shampoo and condition, blowdry and style, and an eyebrow wax. I have an event coming up, so I am considering booking an appointment for this package. However, I have always avoided the eyebrow wax because I have heard it is really painful. I don't think I can book the makeover without the waxing, so I will have to do it. This would be my first time ever getting my eyebrows waxed. How painful is it? Be honest. Should I let them know I've never had waxing when I book the appointment so they can let the stylist know? Is there anything I can do beforehand to make the procedure less uncomfortable? Can the salon use some sort of numbing agent to make it hurt less? Any feedback on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

No pain no gain right? I was terrified getting mine done but I acctually enjoy it. The hot wax opens up the hair follicles making them easier to be pulled out and less painful. It barely hurts honestly. I just hate it because it goes red. And I don't get mine done anymore because the woman doesn't do them that well sometimes but it's better than doing them at home. It's painful if you was them with wax strips!

It does hurt a little but its really not that bad. I get my eyebrows waxed all of the time its a quick sting that doesn't hurt for very long at all. If you are having an appointment and they do that earlier you would have forgotten about the pain by the time your hair is done. I've never heard of them using a numbing agent because it really doesn't hurt that much unless you have a stupidly low pain tolerance.

Eyebrow waxing is not bad. It takes about a split second and it's over. My son is terrified of any kind of pain yet he gets his unibrow waxed every few months and he says it's nothing. And yes, let them know it's your first time. They might give you a cold compress or an ice cube -the coldness helps prevent swelling and kills any discomfort. So steel your courage and face your fear. You'll be a stronger more confident person after facing your fear and getting your eyebrows waxed.

Doesn't hurt bad at all :) and it lasts longer than plucking! No need to prep for it at all they clean around the eyebrow before that wax and usually give you a soothing cream after :) good luck!

It doesn't even hurt that bad. The was feels really good and it's super fast. The only uncomfortable part of it is the sting afterward. It usually goes away soon. Trust me, it's not that bad.
