Did i freak my professor out?

My prof. is the head of some department, and he was talking to this prof. in the room. I didn't know and i knocked on the door, i came in.

The prof said "what." And i said, "uhh sorry but can i pick up the letter of rec that u told me to come by." He said, "later."

And i went out. I was like, WTF...
I feel guilty.. I don't wanna come back.
And just for 1 letter of rec, do i have to come back and forth and secretly hear on the door if he's talkin to someone..

You knocked. That's all that matters. No harm, no foul. Forget about it. If you had blundered in without knocking, then it would be an issue. But, since you haven't issued your handy, dandy xray spectacles yet, there was no way you could tell if the professor was talking to someone. And you would have looked monumentally foolish listening at the door to see if you could hear anything.

Your prof won't even remember about this. Just go back during office hours, you'll be fine.
