Regarding the POTUS/DOJ new gun control regulations, what is a " high powered Pistol " and crimes have they been committed with?

Im aware that the official list will come out in november but
are they talking of .357, ..44, Dessert EAgle, .500 S&W? if so how often are these used my mass shooters and criminals, when most criminals us cheap handguns ( Hi Points etc) that are not the quality of the above ones.
secondly why are they targeting " the mentally Ill". most mentally ill are not violent. Anti social personality disorder comes to mind as one that has some violence but even that is probably a small number. plus what would quality as involuntary committment? 72 hour hold? where as now it has to be more then 72 hours.
why are we restricting on domestic violence " perpetrators" when we are not restricting the fact that its quite easy to be convicted of domestic violence when it is not domestic violence
Update: So with expanding the criteria for diqualified persons are they going to include the person who are normally people without probelms but had a short term psych need due to circumstances and got back to normal? what is a mental illness? Aspergers, Autism? are they going to include ADHD? where do they draw the line?
